Lawrence is best known for her roles in the Carol Burnett Show (1967-1978), which earned her an Emmy Award and three Golden Globe nominations, as well as her main role in the sitcom Mother's Family (1983 -1990).
Lawrence is also known as a singer. Her biggest career success was the 1973 single, “ The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, ” which topped the US main music chart, the Billboard Hot 100 , and the self-titled album, released that same year, sold over two million copies [ 2] .
