Maurice was selected at the 2011 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns Club under a total of 13 numbers. His twin brother was chosen five minutes after him by the Houston Rockets Club. On January 8, 2012, Morris made his first double-double in his professional career, gaining 13 points and making 10 rebounds. On January 18, he first appeared in the Suns starting lineup in a game against the New York Knicks . However, due to the virus, he played only 5 minutes, gaining 3 points and making 2 interceptions and was forced to leave the site. On February 8, Markriff was named one of the newcomers during the 2012 stellar weekend .

On September 8, 2015, Morris was fined by the NBA for $ 10,000 for a public demand from the Suns leadership to exchange it [1] . He later trained with his friend Rashid Wallace before returning to the Suns camp [2] . November 23, he scored a record number of points in the season - 28, but his team still lost to San Antonio Spurs [3] . Markiff left the starting lineup in the first 16 games of the season, but after December 4, Jeff Hornasek decided to put him on the bench. December 24, he was removed by the leadership of the Sons for two games for behavior harmful to the team [4] .

On February 18, 2016, the Phoenix traded it to the Washington Wizards for Chris Humphries , Dejuan Blair and a pick in the 1st round of the 2016 draft pick [5] . The next day he made his debut for a new club in a winning match against the Detroit Pistons , the club where his twin brother Marcus plays, in 22 minutes Markiff scored 6 points and made 2 rebounds. [6]

On February 7, 2019, the Wizards traded Morris with the right to choose in the second round of the 20023 draft pick at the New Orleans Pelicans for Wesley Johnson [7] . The very next day, the Pelicans expelled him from their composition [8] .
