Albrecht Mayer ( German Albrecht Mayer ; born June 3, 1965 , Erlangen ) is a German oboist , soloist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra .

Biography
As a child, Albrecht Mayer sang in the choir of the Bamberg Cathedral . He then practiced the oboe under the direction of several educators: Gerhard Scheuer, Georg Merwein, Maurice Burgh and Ingo Goritski .
For some time, Albrecht Meier performed in various symphony orchestras as a guest musician. In 1990, he became a soloist with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra , and in 1992 he entered a similar position in the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra . Meyer is also an active soloist and chamber musician. He is a regular participant in the octet and wind instrument quintet of the Berlin Philharmonic, and also performs in the ensemble of Sabina Meyer . Among his other ensemble partners are such famous musicians as Nigel Kennedy , Helen Grimaud , Thomas Quasthoff , Lars Vogt and Leif Ove Andsnes .
As a lead singer, Albrecht Meyer recorded several music CDs for both the oboe and related instruments such as the English Horn and the Oboe d'amour . For most of his career, Meyer played the oboe company Buffet-Crampon , but in 2009 he switched to the tools of Gebr. Mönnig.
