Gonomyia oyunaae S. Podenas & J. Gelhaus , 2011

Adult insects of medium size (5-5.9 mm) [1] . The back is completely dark yellowish-brown, pleura and abdomen are yellow [1] . Vertex dark brown, covered with sparse brownish hairs, with two grayish-yellow dots. The antennae are long (1.4-1.7 mm) completely black. The color of the pronotum is variable, in some individuals with a median, dark brown, transverse stripe. The rest of the hindbrain is yellow. Scutellum rusty brown in front and yellowish gray in back. Pleura with yellow with a narrow, vertical, black stripe [1] .

It differs from other types of its subgenus in the following features [1] :

  • posterior margin of ninth tergite of abdomen smooth;
  • each gonocoxitis carries a short, subapical (submaxillary, or submaximal) protrusion;
  • internal gonostyle carries two blackened denticles on top;
  • the external gonostyle is widened beyond the base and carries a small (one third of the length of the external gonostyle) growth at the apex at the main corner;
  • the tip of the edeagus plate is raised upward on the right corner, pinpoint, slightly sclerotized .
