Life Story

The Kung Tong reign lasted about three days.

Kung-tong was the nephew of the emperor Nguyen Zuk-tong , and was chosen to continue his reign, since the emperor had no son. But he was soon removed by members of the court, who were unhappy with his closeness with the French and died of starvation in prison.

According to legend, his body was carried for burial in a reed mat. But halfway to the burial site, the rope broke and the two who carried the body decided to bury it right here and right away. Six years later, his son, Emperor Thanh-thai Feh-de, built a tomb for his father around this temporary grave.

The tomb of Kung-Tong is located two kilometers from Hue [3]
