Nguyen Zyk-tong ( Vietnamese. Nguyễn Dực Tông , Thyonn ) is the 4th emperor of Vietnam from the Nguyen dynasty , who reigned from November 10, 1847 to July 19, 1883 [2] [3] .

It is considered the last emperor of Vietnam who ruled independently.
Life Story
The son of the emperor Nguyen Hien something . He was born on September 22, 1829, and in 1847 became the successor of his father on the throne. Zuk-tong tried to protect the country from the penetration of European influence. He showed indecision and inconsistency, sought help from China and at the same time prevented resistance to the French invasion. This led to Vietnam losing its independence. Zuk-tong did not have children. He died on July 19, 1883.
