Club career

Early years

Bas Dost started playing football in the Germanicus club’s children’s team. After several seasons, he moved to the Emmen Academy, which at that time played in the First Division of the Netherlands .

Emmen

Dost managed to prove himself at the academy and before the start of the 2007/08 season he signed a professional contract with Emmen. He started the season as a reserve player, but gradually began to enter the field more and more often. Through the winter transfer window, he was close to joining the Finnish RoPS club (this was due to the fact that the former Emmen technical director Tom Senfye entered the coaching staff of the Finnish team), but the deal did not take place. Dost scored the first goal for Emmen in the First Division match against Fortuna Sittard on February 8, 2008. Later, he also marked a hat-trick in the local derby with Vendam , in which Emmen won 3-2 [4] .

Heracles

In the summer of 2008, Dost moved to the Heracles club of the Netherlands High Division for an amount of 300 thousand euros . In the 2009/10 season, he scored 14 goals in 34 matches, which attracted the attention of large clubs. Ajax and Twente showed interest in the striker. As a result, Dost, on the advice of his agent Srindzhoy won Chakravarti, moved to Heerenveen .

Heerenveen

Dost signed a five-year contract with the club on May 18, 2010, while the transfer amount was 3.1 million euros [5] . The striker made his debut for the new team on August 7 in a match with PSV , which ended in the defeat of “Heerenveen” with a score of 1: 3. Two weeks later, on August 21, he scored two goals against the NAC . By the end of the 2010/11 season, Dost had 13 goals in 32 matches. In the 2011/12 season, he made a hat-trick in the match against ADO Den Haag , and also scored all five goals of his team in an away match against Excelsior on December 10. At the end of the season, Dost with 32 goals won the title of top scorer of the High Division.

Wolfsburg

On June 1, 2012, it was announced that Dost was joining the German Wolfsburg club. The attacker signed a contract for 5 years [6] .

Sporting (Lisbon)

On August 28, 2016, the press announced that Bas Dost had transferred to the Lisbon Sporting. The Dutch striker signed a 4-year deal with the Green and White. The transfer amount, according to German press reports, amounted to about 12 million euros.

June 12, 2018 broke the contract with the club.

July 21, 2018 signed a new contract with Sporting.
