Biography

He was born on April 16 (29), 1912 in the village of Verzebnevo (now - Lyudinovsky district of the Kaluga region ) in a peasant family. He graduated from junior high school. In 1941 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since June 1941 - on the fronts of World War II. By September 1943, the Guard Corporal Alexei Belov was the machine gunner of the 29th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 12th Guards Rifle Division of the 61st Army of the Central Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .

At the end of September 1943, despite massive enemy fire, Belov crossed the Dnieper near the village of Glushets, Loevsky District, Gomel Region . With automatic fire, he destroyed the German machine gun crew. The soldiers who followed him broke into the trenches of the enemy and knocked him out of there. German troops launched a counterattack using flamethrowers . October 1, 1943 Belov made his way to the German rear, destroying two flamethrowers and a machine gun with grenades [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, Corporal Alexei Belov was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and a medal for "exemplary execution of combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and courage and heroism shown at the same time." The Golden Star, numbered 3380 [1] .

In 1944 he joined the CPSU (b) . In 1945 he was demobilized. He lived in the village of Kletnya, Bryansk region , worked as director of the Zagotzerno office. He died on September 1, 1976 [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star , as well as a number of medals [1] .
