Geography

The village is located 80 km north-east of Tyumen on the right bank of the Tavda River (a tributary of the Tobol River ). Population 6,846 (2010).

There is evidence that the Nizhnetavdinsky Territory was inhabited in ancient times. This is indicated by archaeological excavations - ancient mounds, ancient settlements, fortresses near the villages of Eremino, Devyatkovo, Elan, etc. Some of them date back to the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. e.

The settlement was founded in 1620 as the Tavdinsky settlement of Metropolitan Tobolsk.

Tavdinskoye on the Tavda River is marked on the map of S.U. Remezov in 1701.

In 1965, the status of an urban-type settlement was obtained. In 1991, the village was transformed into a rural settlement.

Religion

There is an active church in the name of the Holy Trinity, built in 2006. (consecrated in 2007) [8] .
