Biography
Peter Belikov was born on February 22, 1916 in the village of Orekhovo (now the Antratsitovsky district of the Lugansk region of Ukraine ). He graduated from primary school and rabfak . In 1938 he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1940, Belikov graduated from the aviation school in Melitopol . From June 1941 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By January 1942, Senior Lieutenant Peter Belikov was the shooter-bombardier of the air line of the 240th reconnaissance air squadron of the North-Western Front . By January 1942, he made 119 successful combat missions, during which he made bombing, reconnaissance and aerial photography of enemy troops and military installations [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 21, 1942, for "exemplary performance of combat tasks of command on the front of the struggle against the German fascist invaders and showing courage and heroism", Lieutenant Peter Belikov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and medal "Gold Star" for the number 704 [1] .
In 1943 he joined the VKP (b) . In 1946, in the rank of Major Belikov was dismissed. He graduated from the Latvian State University , after which he lived and worked in Riga . Died March 15, 1984 [1] .
He was awarded two Orders of Lenin and World War 1 degree, as well as a number of medals [1] .
