Biography
Vladimir Kozhich began work in the theater as an actor: since 1918 he performed on the stage of the Studio Theater under the direction of A. D. Popov ; his directorial debut took place there. Since 1923, he was the chief director and actor of the Kiev Theater Theater Studio. Since 1931 he worked in Leningrad , staged performances in the Red Theater , TRAM . In 1936-1940 he was the artistic director of the Leningrad Theater. Lenin Komsomol , since 1941 he worked at the Leningrad Drama Theater. A. S. Pushkin [1] . As the Theater Encyclopedia wrote, his directorial work was characterized by bold experimental searches, an emotional stage atmosphere, and an acute form [1] . The author of the book "Director's Notes" (1938).
He died on January 9, 1955 .
