- Consuls : Publius Mucius Stcevola and Lucius Calpurnius Pison Frugi (two plebeians ); praetors : Appius Claudius , Guy Marcius Figul , Guy Popillius Lenatus , Lucius Cornelius Lentulus , Lucius Rupilius and Mark Perperna [1] ; plebeian edil : Lucretius Vespillon [2] [3] ; tribunes of the people : Guy Rubrius Varron , Mark Octavius , Publius Sature and Tiberius Sempronius Gracchus [4] .
- After a 15-month siege, Numania surrenders to Scipio Emilian’s troops, with many residents committing suicide. The end of the Numantian war. The Senate Commission arrives in Spain to organize Roman government.
- The death of King Pergamum Attal III , who bequeathed his kingdom to the Roman people. The brother of Attalus III Aristonic refuses to recognize the will.
- Consul Calpurnius Pison goes to Sicily for a war against the rebellious slaves of Eunus . Having defeated the slaves under Messina, his army approached Anne .
- Gracchus bill on the return to the state of public land ( ager publicus ) and its division between landless citizens. Creation of an agrarian commission composed of Tiberius, his brother Guy Gracchus and Appius Claudius Pulhra . Tiberius and 300 of his supporters were killed by an armed detachment of the Senate, led by Consul Nazika . It is officially announced that Gracchus claimed to be king.
