2002 Restyling (First Series)

GTA

In September 2001, 156 GTA and Sportwagon GTA were shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show along with the original 156. GTA markings came from the 1960s Alfa Romeo GTA , where GTA stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita ( Rus. Easy Gran Turismo ). Anyone would think that this name means a light car, but GTA is heavier than the usual 156th. The model was 91 kilograms heavier than the version with a 2.5 liter V6 engine ^[37] . In total, 2,973 sedans and 1,678 station wagons of this modification were produced.
