Tetranitratoxycarbon (tetrakis (nitratoxycarbon) methane; English tetranitratoxycarbon, tetrakis (nitratoxycarbon) methane ) [1] is a hypothetically possible chemical compound. It is believed that it can store energy like nitroglycerin and be explosive. It was proposed in 2011.

Opening
The compound was first assembled by a 10-year-old schoolgirl of grade 5 from Kansas City (Missouri) Clara L. Lazen during the chemistry classes. [2] [3]
Science teacher Kenneth Boehr became interested in the molecule and contacted his fellow chemistry professor Robert Zoellner from Humboldt State University, California . [2] [3] Zollner discovered that this compound has never been described before. [3] In 2012, an article on the theoretical study of compounds was published in the scientific journal Computational and Theoretical Chemistry , in which Leysen and Beer co-authored. [one]
Properties
Tetranitratoxycarbon is composed of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon. Structurally similar to nitroglycerin. It is believed that it may have explosive properties. In addition, a number of related compounds have been described with the general formula C n (CO 3 N) 2n + 2 (where n = 0, 1, 2). [2]
