History
The group was formed by Daniel Collas and Sean Marquand [1] . Both worked as DJs in New York and together produced recordings by other artists, then began to compose their own music. At first, the duo was called Embassy Sound Productions [1] . After being joined by Patrick Wood, Luke Riverside, Laura Marine, Bean Ji Lin, Pierre Pappalardo and Joan Thicke in 2008, the band acquired its current name. In 2009, the Phenomenal Handclap Band released their self-titled debut album, which was helped by several local musicians, including Aurelio Valle from Calla , Jalil Bunton from TV on the Radio , John Spencer ( Blues Explosion ) and Lady Tiger ( L ' Trimm ). The song “15 to 20”, which was included in the playlist of BBC 6 Music , was released on the single , which took 28th place in the UK chart of Independent Singles Breakers [2] .
The team took part in the recording of the mini-album Diane Birch and toured with Brian Ferry [3] . The second studio album, Form and Control, was recorded at RAK without Joan Thicke, who left the band, and was released in January 2012 [1] .
