The location of the teams of the Latvian First League Championship 2012.

According to the results of the 2011 season, football clubs qualified from the First League to the Premier League :

  • METTA / University of Latvia - 1st place in the standings (56 points);
  • Spartak - 3rd place in the standings (52 points), victory in transitional matches over the Olympus club.

From the Premier League 2011 in the First League dropped out:

  • Olympus - 9th place in the standings (6 points), defeat in transitional matches to Spartak club, reorganized into Skonto-2 .

From the Second League 2011 in the First League came:

  • “ Youth Sports School Ilukste ” is the 2nd stage of the Latvian Second League Championship 2011.

Left the first league:

  • Ogre / FC33 - 13th place in the standings (1 point).

Also, the football club “Tsarnikava” applied for participation in the tournament, which was considered by the LFF Competition Organizing Committee and stated that it was a newly formed club, which, due to licensing rules, should start participating in tournaments from the Second League of Latvia , therefore the application was rejected [1 ] [2] .
