Thomas (? - XII century) - the grandfather and regent of Ruben II , the seventh ruler of the Cilician Armenian kingdom .
Biography
After the death of Toros II , by right of succession, Ruben II was to sit on the throne of Cilicia. However, when his father died in 1169 , Ruben had not yet come of age. In view of this, a struggle for power unfolded in Cilicia. The regent of the young heir was his maternal grandfather - Thomas [1] . However, this did not like it, the brother of the late ruler - Mlekh , who usurped the rights of a legitimate heir, forced to recognize himself as the heir to his brother [2] .
