Freindlich, Bart

Bart was born and raised in Manhattan . He graduated from the art school at New York University, receiving the specialty of film and television producer ^[1] . His brother, Oliver is an architect.

Bart shot his first full-length film, Shadows of the Past, in 1997. The film received a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival and was praised by critics. In 2001, Bart directed the drama The Wanderer, starring Billy Crudup and Julianne Moore . The film tells the story of a successful architect who unexpectedly gives up his successful life and leaves for adventures. In 2004, Bart's Forbidden Mission came out. The main character of the film, performed by Kristen Stewart, decides, together with her friends, to rob a bank in order to pay her father an expensive operation. In 2005, in the cinemas, you could watch the melodrama “ Trust the Man ”. Freundlich acted as director, screenwriter and producer of the film, which was played by such actors as David Duchovny , Maggie Gyllenhaal and Justin Bart , as well as Julianne Moore and Billy Crudup , with whom the director had previously collaborated. The plot focuses on two married couples disappointed in love. Girls are already looking for new emotions when their men suddenly realize that they would like to save their marriages.

In 2009, Bart was the director, screenwriter and producer of the romantic comedy " Call Nanny ", which says that a big age difference is not a barrier to true love. The main roles in the film were played by Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bart . In 2012, Freundlich directed several episodes of Lascivious California , leaving to work on TV shows until 2016.

In January 2019, at the Sundance Film Festival , the premiere of Bart Freindlich’s film “ After the Wedding, ” starring Michelle Williams , Julianne Moore, and Billy Crudap , premiered. This is a remake of the picture of the same name in 2006 (with Mads Mikkelsen ), nominated for an Oscar as the best film of the year in a foreign language. The film will be released in Russian rental in September.

Since 1996, Freundlich has been in a relationship with actress Julianne Moore , whom she met on the set of Shadows of the Past. They married on August 23, 2003. ^[2] The couple has two children - son Caleb (born December 4, 1997) and daughter Liv Helen (born April 11, 2002) ^[2] . They live in Greenwich Village , New York. ^[3]
