23rd Street ( 23rd Street ) is a station on the New York Metro , located on IND Eighth Avenue Line . The station is located in Manhattan , at the intersection of 8th Avenue , 23rd Street . The station was opened on September 10, 1932 as part of the first line of the line to Inwood . Only local trains stop at the station. It is served by three subway routes: E works all the time, C - works except for the night, A - stops only at night, replacing C. During the daytime, A uses central express ways that are not equipped with a platform, so they do not stop.

The station is decorated in yellow tones, the name of the station is laid out in the form of a mosaic on the walls. There are two side platforms serving only local paths. From the station there are several exits. From the southern end there is a turnstile hall (at the platform level) from where you can get to 23rd street . There is no free transition between platforms. Two more exits are located in the center and at the northern end of each of the platforms, which lead to the 24th and 25th streets, respectively. Turnstile rooms here are located on the mezzanine above, so there is the possibility of free transition between platforms.
