Biography

In 1954 he graduated from the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute. A.I. Herzen. He worked at the Department of Physical Education of the Leningrad Institute of Textile and Light Industry named after S. M. Kirov . He raised Capitolina Seryogin, a participant in the 1972 Olympic Games.
He was a pioneer in the development of the short track in the USSR. Head coach of the USSR national team (1986-1998). In 1989, at the European Cup in Budapest, the USSR team under his leadership won four gold medals. At the 1991 World Championships in Sydney (Australia), Soviet athletes won silver medals in the 3000m relay. And a year later, at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville (France), they won bronze medals.
