Biography

Born in Yasnaya Polyana (Tula region) in the RSFSR [6] , according to other sources - in Czechoslovakia .

  • Father is a soldier ( paratrooper ).
  • Mother is an artist .
  • The younger sister is Marina Berulava (member of the Mantana rock band (1999-2003) [7] and the syntypop group Merry Poppins (2004-2008) [3] , artist, photographer [8] .
  • The younger sister is Lyudmila Berulava (member of the syntypop group Merry Poppins) [3] .

The Berulava family, like many military families, moved many times. Therefore, Ales Berulava studied at different schools. They lived in Russia, Czechoslovakia , Moldova, Germany. Alesya began to compose songs as a child. She gave the first song she wrote to her classmate for her birthday. From the 4th grade, Alesya arranged performances, then her audience were parents and classmates [2] [9] .

In Dnestrovsk (Moldova), Alesya graduated from a piano school of music and was engaged in ballroom dancing . Thanks to her hobbies, Alesia participated in many all-Union competitions. Then the Berulava family moved to Germany.

In 1989, in Germany, she graduated from secondary school. In the same year, Alesya went to Minsk to enter the Belarusian University of Culture at the faculty of directing mass holidays, and later transferred to the faculty of pop vocal. After the institute, Alesya left for Germany, to study vocals, to sing world folklore and her own songs in clubs and on the streets, accompanying herself on the guitar. In Germany, she also worked as a fashion model in the youth magazine Yo Yo [6] .

Creativity

In early 1998, Alesya Berulava returned to Minsk and a year later (April 22, 1999 ) founded the rock group "Mantana" [2] . As part of the group, she recorded the single “Because ...” (2000) [10] and the album “Manicures” (2001) [11] [12] .

In 2004, Alesia, together with her sister Marina Berulava, created the syntypop group Merry Poppins. During the existence of the group, she recorded the maxi-single Merry Poppins (2006) [13] and the album Do svidania ... (2008) [14] . Alesia Berulava is a soloist, leader, composer and songwriter in both groups [12] . She is also the author of several unpublished songs relating to different periods of her work [15] .

Alesia Berulava in the period from 2001-2008 was engaged in acting. As an actress, she starred in 3 video clips of the rock group "Mantana" and 4 video clips of the syntypop group Merry Poppins, in several television projects and the film [1] [16] [17] .

Since 2016, she has been the vocalist and leader of the revived rock band Mantana.
