Biography
Born in the city of Tiflis in the family of a priest.
In 1804, he graduated from the Tiflis noble school .
In 1807 he was ordained deacon .
On September 30, 1814, he was ordained a priest to the Tiflis Cathedral and appointed a preacher for the conversion of Ossetians.
In 1818 he was awarded a pectoral cross for the conversion of 2097 Ossetians to Orthodoxy. By 1819, the number of converts reached 3834 people.
As a reward for his labors on November 2, 1819, he was elevated to the rank of archpriest and determined dean in Ossetia.
In 1825 he was appointed Dean of Tiflis County and the manager of church estates in Tiflis.
From 1826 to 1835, he was a member of the Tiflis Confederate Court.
Since 1831 - rector of the Zion Cathedral .
In 1833, he was represented by a deputy from the Georgian clergy to the Judicial Commission to consider and resolve questions about the doers in Georgia and Imereti of fake royal letters for noble and princely dignity.
On September 7, 1834, he was tonsured a monk; On September 9, he was elevated to the rank of archimandrite and appointed rector of the Davido-Gareji desert , as well as a member of the Georgian-Imereti synodal office.
On 8 April 1841 he was appointed a member of the Gujars Review Committee on Georgian Church estates and peasants.
On April 13, 1852, he was consecrated bishop of Gori , Vicar of the Mtskheta-Kartala (Georgian) diocese. In the same year he was appointed rector of the Shuamta Nativity of the Theotokos Monastery .
He died on April 6, 1858.
