Initial Biography

Grigory Alekseevich Khalyuzin was born on February 10, 1897 in Verkhneuralsk now in the Chelyabinsk region.

Military Service

World War I and Civil War

In 1916 he was drafted into the ranks of the Russian imperial army, in which he served as senior non-commissioned officer until 1917 . During the First World War, he fought on the Western Front .

In 1916 he graduated from a training school in the consolidated Cossack regiment in Tsarskoye Selo ( Pushkin ).

Since March 1918 he served in the ranks of the Red Army .

Until 1920, Khaliuzin served as platoon commander, hundreds on the Eastern and Western fronts .

At the end of repeated cavalry command courses in Yekaterinburg in 1920, he fought in the Kuban , Northern Caucasus and Transcaucasia until 1921 .

Interwar

From 1922 to 1931 he served as platoon commander, company, head of the regimental school of a number of regiments of the Ural military district .

In 1925 he graduated from repeated command courses in Simbirsk .

In 1931 he was appointed to the post of chief of staff of a rifle regiment, since 1933 he served as commander of a regiment, and since 1934 he commanded a rifle regiment.

In November 1937 he was appointed commander of the 96th Rifle Division , and in March 1941 - the commander of the 33rd Rifle Corps .

World War II

He met the war as commander of the 33rd Rifle Corps ( 28th Army ), who led the defense of battles in the cities of Roslavl , Pochinok and Bryansk .

In September 1941, he was appointed to the post of chief of rear services of the 13th Army , which, retreating in the direction of the cities of Chausy , Propoisk , Novgorod-Seversky , Fatezh and Kastornoye , carried out heavy defense, sometimes getting surrounded.

Since May 1942, Khalyuzin commanded the 48th Army , which led the defense in the Yelets direction. During the offensive on Oryol, the army did not achieve major successes and therefore, in February 1943, Khaliuzin was appointed deputy commander of the 61st Army , which led the defense and offensive south and south-west of the city of Belev and took part in the Orel offensive operation and the liberation of the city Bolkhov . In September 1943, Khalyuzin would be appointed commander of the 89th Rifle Corps (61st Army). During the Kalinkovich-Mozyr operation, the corps took part in the liberation of the cities of Mozyr and Kalinkovichi .

From February to July 1944, Khaliuzin was treated at the hospital, after which he was appointed commander of the 9th Guards Rifle Corps (61st Army). During the Lublin-Brest operation, the corps liberated Brest , after which it received the name "Brest" and soon as part of the army it was withdrawn to the reserve of the Supreme Command and relocated to the 3rd Baltic Front . During the Riga operation, the corps was subordinated to the 1st shock army , in which it took part in the liberation of Riga . During the Warsaw-Poznan and East Pomeranian operations, the corps liberated the cities of Sochaczew , Alt-Damm ( Dombe ) and reached the Baltic Sea . At the beginning of the Berlin operation for health reasons he was sent for treatment.

Post-War Career

After the war, Khaliuzin served as deputy commander of the Tauride Military District .

After graduating from higher academic courses at the Higher Military Academy. K.E. Voroshilov in 1948 was appointed to the post of assistant commander of the troops of the West Siberian Military District for universities.

Since 1949, he worked as an assistant chief of the Military Academy. M.V. Frunze .

In September 1953, Grigory Alekseevich Khalyuzin went into reserve, after which he lived in Moscow , where he died on September 27, 1975 . He was buried at Vvedensky cemetery .
