Career

At the 1948 Olympic Games in St. Moritz , he became a two-time Olympic champion in the 18 km race and the relay race. In the race for 18 km, 32 seconds won against the second, his team-mate Nils Estensson . The last stage ran in the relay, and having gone to his stage as a confident leader, he retained and strengthened the lead, having won nearly 9 minutes at the finish of the second Finns . In the race for 50 km did not participate.

At the 1952 Olympics in Oslo, he won bronze in the relay race, in which, like 4 years ago, the last stage ran, having gone to his stage in 3rd position, he retained it until the finish line. In the individual races of the Olympic tournament did not participate.
