Biography

Halter is from Los Angeles , her father is a guitarist who once played with Pete Seeger. [2] She studied classical piano since childhood [3] , later studied electronic music at the California Institute of the Arts , collaborated with Linda Perhaks and Ramona González ( Nite Jewel ) [2] [4] .

For four years since 2008, Holter has released four albums with limited editions on small labels. [5] The full debut took place in the fall of 2011 , when the album Tragedy was released , inspired by the tragedy of Euripides “ Hippolytus ” [6] . She received 8 points out of 10 at Pitchfork [7] and took 13th place in the list of the best releases of the year in the journal Fact [8] . Critics have compared Holter with Joanna News , Julianne Barwick, and Laurie Anderson [9] [10] .

March 8, 2012, the album Ekstasis was released, mixed with Cole M. Greif-Nill, guitarist from the group of Ariel Pink [2] .
