Mayevsky, Henryk

Henryk Majewski ( Polish: Henryk Majewski ; April 13, 1936 , Warsaw - June 17, 2005 ) - Polish jazz trumpet player , holder of the Order of the Renaissance of Poland . One of the brightest representatives of Polish traditional jazz in Dixieland style.

At a music school, Henryk Majewski learned to play the clarinet and accordion. He learned to play the pipe himself. In 1958, he began performing as part of the New Orleans Stompers ensemble. He later founded and directed the groups Old Timers , The Barn , Swing Session . One of his latest musical projects was Henryk Maevsky’s sextet.

The two sons of Henryk Majewski also became jazz musicians: Robert as a trumpeter, Wojciech as a pianist.
