Katung-Kang (also Khatung-Kang ) is a mountain in the Himalayas , part of the Damodar-Himale mountain range, located in the central part of Nepal [2] . The main summit of the mountain has a height of 6484 m, and also, to the north of the main summit, there is a secondary summit - Thorong-Ri (6144 m, ).

Thorong-La Pass
To the north of Katung-Kang, there is another six thousand mountain - Yakawa-Kang (6482 m). In the saddle between Thorong-Ri and Yakawa-Kang, at an altitude of 5,416 m, is the Torong-La Pass . The trail passing through the pass is regularly used by local merchants, as well as lovers of mountain tourism - the pass is the highest point of the hiking route “The Track around Annapurna” .
Climbing
The first ascent of Katung-Kang was made in the spring of 1956 by Swiss climbers Arthur Baumgartner and Marguerite Deriez [3] .
