Ovett, Steve

Stephen Michael James Ovett (October 9, 1955, Brighton , England ) is a British middle distance runner . Olympic champion in 1980 at a distance of 800 meters and a silver medalist in the run at 1,500 meters. 1978 European champion in 1,500 meters - 3.35.59. Silver medalist of the European Championships 1974 (1.45.77) and 1978 (1.44.09) in 800 meters. Former world record holder at a distance of 1,500 meters and in the run for 1 mile .
