  • 1997 - by the Decree of the Head of Administration of the city of Valuyki and Valuysky district No. 960, the "Shelaevsky rural experimental-experimental Center for Education and Culture" was opened, headed by the Shelaevskaya secondary school.

Parish School

The parish school in the village of Shelaevo was founded at the end of the 19th century. The building of the parish school in the village has survived to the present. This is the current building next to the recreation center. It is built soundly, from chopped logs, coated with clay. The school consisted of five classrooms (one of them was called the hall where the holidays, choral singing took place), as well as the office. One class was reserved for teacher housing (if necessary). The school had high ceilings, bright windows. The equipment in the parish school was simple: the teacher had blackboard and chalk, students' blackboards to write, and then erase what was written after verification. The school year lasted from Pokrov (October 14) to Yegoriy (May 6), as the children helped a lot with the housework. For holidays, Christmas time and three days of Easter were allotted .

In the church school, the main lesson was the law of God, which was conducted by a clergyman of the Shelaevskaya (Bogoroditsky) church. In the pre-revolutionary period, two daughters of the father worked in the parish school: Lyubov Ivanovna and Maria Ivanovna Krasovsky. These were highly educated and intelligent teachers.

Zemsky school in the village

In 1912, in the Russian village of Shelaevo, Valuysky county , Voronezh province , the Zemstvo opened a school for the children of Shelaevsky peasants. Judging by the fact that this was already the second school (the first is a parish church), our ancestors had a great desire for knowledge. The appearance of a secular school in the village made it possible for the peasants to attend any of them. There were 4 classes.

The following subjects were taught at the Zemstvo school: grammar, reading, arithmetic, calligraphy, God's law, singing.

Each student had a slate board and a stylus. Everything was done on such boards. There were almost no homework. Discipline rested on punitive measures: on your knees, without lunch, clicks.

Educational program in Shelaevo village

In the first years of Soviet power, schools in the village for adults were opened - educational programs . The fight against illiteracy has become a truly massive phenomenon in the 20-30s. The place of such schools were spacious, at that time, villagers' huts.

Graduates of the parish school of the village of Shelaevo became teachers of the educational program. One of these teachers was Zubtsov Nestor Dmitrievich, who taught 26 illiterate fellow villagers. He was registered in the district. He received a ration of teachers: 1 kilogram of 200 grams of sugar and 60 cents per dependent wage. Nestor Dmitrievich for a long time was the head of the hut-reading room (library).

Former student of the parish school of Churnosova Anastasia Kirillovna proved herself very competent and was invited by the secretary to the district military enlistment office .

Seven Years

In 1937, the school was transformed into a seven-year-old. In the first issue of the seventh grade, which took place before the war, there were only 24 people.

The number of students in the school grew every year. In the early 50s, two buildings did not accommodate everyone. So another school appeared.

School during the Great Patriotic War and the first post-war years

Little information remains about how our school lived during the war years. Many school graduates left to defend their homeland. Gone to the front and teachers. During the German occupation, from July 5, 1942 to January 19, 1943, the school was closed. Then her work resumed.

After the war, new teachers came to school: geographer Anna Savelyevna Konoreva, director Demidov Pavel Nikitovich, Lidia Konstantinovna Demidova, Sofya Afanasevna Eremenko, Zazharsky Vasily Fedorovich. School life was hard. There were not enough textbooks for students: 8-10 people each had one textbook. There were few notebooks, they wrote on pencils with paper. Teachers had to line paper for grade 1. There were no ready visual aids. They were made of clay and sticks. There was not enough furniture. Children sat on 3-4 people. In the cold season, they didn’t undress at the lessons, as it was very cold: sometimes frost even appeared on the walls. Technical workers had to heat the school with acacia branches. It was very difficult for both children and adults, but classes at school did not stop. The school helped starving families with schoolchildren using potatoes, corn, and sugar beets collected from the school site. They also sold fruit from the school garden, and used the money to help the needy and repair the school.

From Seven Years to High School

Times have changed, schools have changed. In 1956, the Shelaevskaya School was reorganized into the Shelaevskaya Secondary General Polytechnic with vocational training. Vasily Andreevich Popov was appointed its director. In memory of this, the Memory Park was laid. The first issue in 1958 was a real village holiday. 25 graduates, and among them three medalists: Ryabinin Yury Panfilovich, Pyshieva Zoya Nikolaevna, Tarasenko Gennady Petrovich.

At this time, another school building was built. Thus, the school was located in four buildings.

In the late 1950s, a workshop building for labor lessons and a gym were built from the former priestly house.

To a new school with new ideas

1972 was a special year for the Shelaevskaya school: on December 2, builders passed the new two-story building. Such a generous gift was received by schoolchildren from their native collective farm “Red Putilovets”.

And then the collective farm was headed by chairman Viktor Bulygin, a man who, for his selfless work, received the honorary title of Excellence in Public Education of the USSR, was awarded the Order of Lenin.

Under the roof of the new building, new ideas were born. One of the first teachers in the Shelaevskaya school to make a transition to the cabinet system of education, the essence of which is the optimal opportunity to learn and study in a laboratory room. The first to function were classrooms of history, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, the Russian language and literature. The history cabinet (its creator V. Poderyagin ) became the best in the field.

The school turned into a Center for educational work in the countryside and, as a result of its fruitful work, became a participant in VDNH in Moscow.

The new school initiated another idea: "If you live in your native land, know its history." Pupils of the school, under the guidance of history teacher Vasily Savelyevich Poderyagin, created a museum of local lore, which received the title of “People's Museum”.

Shelaevskaya secondary school - educational complex in the village

In 1976, Shelaevskaya School received a new status - UVK. And, as always, the educational complex of Shelaevskaya secondary school was one of the first in the Valuy district. Having studied the experience of the Yasnosorenskaya and Bessonovskaya schools of the Belgorod region, the school’s teaching staff developed an action plan and development program of a similar type of educational complex based on the school. The branches of the music and sports schools were added to the various circles and sections at the school, which created certain conditions for the development of musical abilities of students and sports in the school. The results didn’t have to wait long: amateur participants of the Shelaevskaya school took first places in the region, the vocal and instrumental ensemble and brass band, led by Nikolai Fyodorovich Poderyagin, won prizes in the region. Graduates of the branch of the music school easily entered the Belgorod College of Music. Among such graduates were Nikolai Mikhailovich Erokhin, who at one time headed the region’s culture department, Alexander Mikhailovich Kubaev, who led the children's brass band in Ukraine.

Sports achievements of Shelaev’s schoolchildren were raised to an even higher level. Now the best in the area are not only football players and laptists, but also basketball players.

The development of UVK has led to the emergence of new branches in the school: Stations for children and youth tourism, Stations for young technicians, Stations for young people , art schools.

School Production Team - New Trend in School

The second half of the 50s of the past century. Throughout the great country, a movement has begun to create student production teams. Created in the Stavropol Territory, they found wide support in the USSR Ministry of Public Education: such brigades were created everywhere in rural schools, and apprenticeship production units in small schools.

In 1956, the Shela residents said yes to this innovation. The fate of the brigade was different. One thing remains unchanged: for more than half a century, it has been in a state of useful labor.

Real revolutionary transformations in the activities of the brigade took place when our graduate V. M. Perov became the chairman of the collective farm “Krasny Putilovets”.

For two years Vyacheslav Mikhailovich tested us for strength. Making sure that we can be independent, he proposed to the general meeting of collective farmers to transfer 26 hectares of land for free use to the student production team, and together with the land and the necessary equipment, inventory as material initial capital for independent activity.

Today, on its 26 hectares of land, the team receives good harvests of grain and industrial crops.

We twice participated in the International Competition. Makarenko and twice were his laureates. Every year we are the winners of the regional competition of school teams, we have a diploma of the winner of the All-Russian competition.

“Revolutionary” 80s and 90s

Since the mid-80s, the Shelayevsky UVK pedagogical team has been involved in the generalization and dissemination of the experience of Belgorod schools - educational complexes throughout the Soviet Union. The task was to prepare the most optimal version of the model of a rural comprehensive school. This was done by a specially created laboratory of educational complexes at the research institute of general problems of education of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.

The laboratory included the scientific and practical pedagogical association "Belogorye", where the educational complex of Shelaevskaya secondary school occupied a worthy place. Five years of work as a junior researcher at the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, the director of the school, Vasily Savelyevich Poderyagin, did not pass without a trace.

The practical achievements of the school were studied in detail by scientists of the research institutes, generalized and developed recommendations for further improvement and development of the educational complex. A lot of publications and materials have been published summarizing both the holistic experience of the pedagogical team and certain areas of its activity. We were searching for the most optimal version of the rural school model.

From UVK to the Center for Education and Culture in the Village

The events of August 1991 in our country became a thunderbolt from a clear sky. And the real lightning was December of the same year, which shattered our Soviet Union. Many educational structures collapsed, various research institutes ceased to exist, and the scientific-practical pedagogical association "Belogorye" did not exist. But the case, which was started by Shelaev's teachers in the mid-80s, did not disappear in their minds. They continued to search for new forms and methods of working with children in rural schools. Teachers understood that it was not possible to solve all the tasks that reality set for the school on its own, so the idea arose of creating a Center for Education and Culture in the countryside in order to coordinate actions and unite the efforts of all institutions and organizations involved in the education and upbringing of the younger generation. In the creation of the Center, teachers saw the organic continuation and development of the rural educational complex.

1997 - by the Decree of the Head of Administration of the city of Valuyki and Valuysky district No. 960, the "Shelaevsky rural experimental-experimental Center for Education and Culture" was opened, headed by the Shelaevskaya secondary school.

Having received the legal status of a central educational center, the school combined the efforts of a kindergarten, the Kolykhalinsky elementary school, the House of Culture, and a rural library to create conditions for personal self-realization. In addition, branches of regional institutions of continuing education continue to operate within the framework of the UVK: youth sports school, art school, music school, Children's Art Center, Tourism Center, Station for Young Naturalists, Station for Young Technicians.

Participation in the School of the Year contest

Since 1991, Shelaevskaya Secondary School is a participant in the regional and All-Russian competition "School of the Year".

In 1991, the school received its first diploma of the winner of the regional competition "School of the Year-91" and in the same year became the owner of Diploma No. 1 of the USSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences "School of the Year-91", which was presented in the city of Perm, and received its head teacher Poderyagina Lyubov Vladimirovna.

In March 1994, the school received another diploma of the winner of the regional competition "School of the Year-94".

In 2003, they received the Laureate Diploma of the regional competition “School of the Year 2003”. The school already had by that time the status of a center of education and culture in the countryside.

2007 - Shelaevskaya school won the competition "School of the Year 2007" [1] .

School in the first decade of the new century

The first decade of the 21st century was marked for the Shelaev School by significant successes in teaching and raising children. A team of teachers and students of one large school family took part in many events of the district, regional, republican and international scales.

Every year, the school takes first place in the district competition in terms of the main indicators of socio-economic development and the results of the educational process. Twice - in 2004 and 2007 - became the laureate of the Makarenko International Competition as one of the best schools in Russia in the organization of labor education and training.

In 2007, the school team took part in the All-Russian competition of educational institutions introducing innovative educational programs within the framework of the Priority National Project "Education", and was awarded the Winner Diploma and a monetary Presidential grant in the amount of 1 million rubles.

For success in the development of an educational institution, good results in teaching and educating students, victory in the competition of educational institutions introducing innovative educational programs, the governor of the Belgorod region thanked the staff of our school in 2007.

In 2008, for special successes in the education and upbringing of the younger generation, the school was listed in the Federal Register “All-Russian Book of Honor”. This year brought another high award to our school: according to the results of the IX All-Russian competition “1000 Best Enterprises and Organizations of Russia - 2008” in the nomination “Active Participant in National Projects of Russia” the school became a winner and was awarded a Diploma and a medal.

In 2009, good news came from Moscow: our school was included in the list of the best schools in the Russian Federation and entered into the national register "Leading educational institutions of Russia".
