About the album
The album’s singles were “ Just a Friend of Mine ”, “Puerto Rico”, “Don't Cry for Louie” and “Johnny”, the only French song on the record. Vaya Con Dios was recorded with the collaboration of various artists, one of them - Bert Decort, a former member of The Mistress, worked on the creation of Puerto Rico. The singles "Puerto Rico", "Just a Friend of Mine", "Don't Cry for Louie" brought fame to the group. After the success of the singles from the album Vaya Con Dios, the team was opened the way to many European charts.
The song “Johnny” was written in 1937 by Richard Stein under the title “Sanie cu zurgălăi” [1] , and Edith Piaf performed it under the title “Johnny, tu n'es pas un ange”. One Silver Dollar was originally performed by Marilyn Monroe .
The disk received platinum status in Finland [2] .
