(427) Galena ( Greek: Γαλήνη ) is an asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on August 27, 1897 by the French astronomer Auguste Charlois at the Nice Observatory and named after Galena, one of the Nereids according to ancient Greek mythology [1] .
