Warfalla

Warfalla occupies the land between the cities of Beni Walid , Sirte , Sebha , Benghazi and a line of about 125 kilometers (78 miles) south and east of Tripoli .

The Warfall tribe consists of 52 sub-tribes (Warsafna, Rishvana, Mchachiya, etc.), which consist of separate clans.

There is a tribe from the Banu Hilal tribes who settled Egypt and Libya in the XI century. Mixed marriages with Berbers led to the complete Arabization of the region by the time it was conquered by the Ottoman Empire . During the Italian invasion of Libya, the Warfall tribe led by Bela Harje was neutral until the Italians reached the tribe's territory. In 1920-1922 there were intra-tribal skirmishes in the Jabal al-Garbi area. After the 1969 revolution, the role of the tribe in Libya began to grow due to its devotion to the Jamahiriya and the good attitude of the authorities towards it. Gaddafi recruited members of the Warfall tribe to work in the security and intelligence agencies, and many Warfallah representatives were in the revolutionary committees and authorities. In 1993, important tribal members were implicated in the preparation of the 1993 failed coup . Gaddafi dealt with them. Over the years of the Jamahiriya, the tribe has become one of the richest in the country. During the war of 2011, the Warfall tribe remained faithful to Colonel Gaddafi to the last. Many members of the tribe and now participate in the resistance of the Gaddafists.
