Ribnica ( Sloven. Ribnica ) - a community in the south of Slovenia . Part of the historical region of Lower Krajna . The population of the community is 9266 people, the population of the city itself is 3480 people. First mentioned in written sources in 1220 as Rewenicz . Later in the German documents appear as Reifnitz .
