John Neville ( born John Neville ; May 2, 1925 - November 19, 2011 ) is an English film and theater actor who moved to Canada in 1972. He was best known for his role in the 1988 Terry Gilliam film The Adventures of Baron Munchausen .

Biography
John Neville was born in London in 1925. During World War II, served as a signalman in the Royal Navy . After the war, he studied as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts . In 1947 he made his debut as an extras in the play " Richard II " on the stage of the London New Theater. [five]
Entering the Old Wick Theater in 1953, John Neville quickly became a Shakespearean performer, playing Richard II, Romeo and Hamlet, and alternated with Richard Burton in the roles of Othello and Iago. In 1961 he left London and joined the Nottingham Theater.
In 1972, he moved to Canada with his family. From 1973 to 1978 he was the artistic director of the Citadel Theater in Edmonton . From 1978 to 1983 he was the artistic director of the Neptune Theater in Halifax (Nova Scotia) . From 1985 to 1989 he was the artistic director of the Stratford Shakespeare Theater Festival .
