Otniel Schneller ( Hebrew עתניאל שנלר ; born January 18, 1952 , Jerusalem , Israel ) is an Israeli politician and a member of the Knesset ( 17 , 18 convocations) from the Kadima party .

Biography
Otniel Schneller was born on January 18, 1952 in the city of Jerusalem , Israel . He studied Judaica and social sciences at Bar-Ilan University , graduated in 1978 . He served in the IDF , graduating with the rank of colonel.
In 2006, he was first elected to the Knesset from the Kadima party . He joined the Commission on Economics, the Finance Commission, the Commission on Foreign Affairs and Security, the Legislative Commission and the Commission on State Control. In addition, he worked as part of several subcommittees (a subcommittee on security, foreign relations and international trade relations and a subcommittee on the report of the Comptroller on the demarcation ).
In 2009, he was re-elected to the Knesset of the 18th convocation , was appointed chairman of the subcommittee on security, foreign relations and international trade relations.
In the Knesset of the 17th and 18th convocations, he worked as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset .
In December 2010, Schneller caused a public outcry around him, accusing the Russian-speaking Israelis of bringing to Israel the habit of driving while intoxicated [1] .
After the photos of the Knesset deputy from the Balad party, Hanin Zoabi , were published in the company of Palestinian politicians who had previously served time in Israeli prisons, Schneller called for the sending of deputy Ahmed Tibi and Hanin Zoabi to the Gaza Strip [2] .
Schneller is married, has four children, lives in the village of Maale-Mihmas . He speaks Hebrew and English .
