Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, the inhabitants of the canton gave Francois Hollande in the 1st round 33.1% of the vote against 24.7% of Marin Le Pen and 20.1% of Nicolas Sarkozy , and Hollande won in the 2nd round of the canton 60.0% of the vote (2007 1st round: Sarkozy - 26.3%, Segolen Royal - 25.2%; 2nd round: Royal - 50.7%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 5th constituency of the department of Pas de Calais, they supported the current deputy and mayor of Boulogne-sur-Mer , a member of the Socialist Party Frederic Cuvillier , who won 49.2% of the vote in the 1st round and who won the 1st round by the results of voting throughout the district. (2007 Frederic Cuvillier (SP): 1st round - 40.8%, 2nd round - 60.9%).
