Biography
Michel Jacobsen was born in the city of Dunkirk, which at that time belonged to Spain, and was a pilot. When the invincible armada was broken by a storm off the coast of England, thanks to his art, he managed to collect the remains of the fleet in ports.
At the end of the XVI and the beginning of the XVII century, he took an active part in the naval war with Holland.
During the Thirty Years War he was an admiral. In 1632, he landed a 4,000th Spanish landing force in Flanders, despite being guarded by a strong Dutch fleet, and defeating a Turkish squadron on his return trip to Spain. For his exploits he received the nickname "sea fox".
