The Joseph Stalin Museum in Gori ( Georgia ) is a historical museum in Georgia dedicated to the life of the most famous city-born, Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin , who became the head of the Soviet government and in fact led the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1953 . Opened in 1937.

Description
The museum has three departments, all of them are located in the central area of the city. The main building is a large palazzo in the Stalinist Gothic style, the construction of which began in 1951 as a local history museum, but it is quite obvious that it should have become a memorial to Stalin.
There are many things in the exposition that actually or allegedly belong to Stalin, including some of the furniture from his offices, and gifts. Also presented a large number of illustrations, paintings, documents, photographs and newspaper articles. The exhibition ends with one of twelve copies of Stalin's death mask .
Before the main museum is the house in which Stalin was born and spent the first four years of his life.
The museum presents Stalin's personal railway saloon. The car was used by him since 1941, including for trips to the Teheran and Yalta conferences. It was transferred to the Museum of the North Caucasus Railway in 1985 .
