History
It was built in 1917 for the Imperial Fleet of Russia under the name "Pigeon".
In 1918 it was captured by the Germans and was renamed the Beo.
After the Civil War in Russia, it was sold to the Finns, who renamed it “Uusimaa” and added it to their Navy. During the interwar period, the guns on the ship were improved: instead of the old machine guns, the Bofors and Madsen guns were installed. During Finland’s participation in World War II, the 102-mm guns of the Obukhov plant were replaced with 105/45 German universal guns SK C / 32.
Participated in the war against the USSR: on June 26, 1941, the Soviet patrol boat MO-138 was sunk (commanded by gunboat captain-lieutenant Vikberg). On July 8, 1942, Somery sank two torpedo boats.
In October 1944, she participated in battles in the Gulf of Bothnia against German forces in Tarmo .
After the war, it was reclassified as a minesweeper. In 1953 it was sold abroad and disassembled for metal.
