History
Named train No. 001E / 002E Sakhalin has been operating since 2001 and became the first passenger train in the Far Eastern Railways in the Sakhalin region to switch to wagons manufactured by the Tver Wagon Building Plant [2] , where along with high-wagon wagons, wagons with seats with air seats are presented, the ticket price which are several times lower than traditional [3] . Prior to this, all long-distance passenger trains on Sakhalin consisted of Japanese- made cars.
Due to the re-alignment of the railway gauge on Sakhalin Island, the branded train of the same name was canceled for the period from June 1 to August 31, 2018 [4] .
Rolling stock
Two trains of the Sakhalin Passenger Company run on the line. The train consists of 6 to 9 compartment cars, depending on the occupancy of the train, 1 reserved seat car , 2 CB cars, restaurant car .
