The nucleus of the seam ( lat. Nuclei raphes ) - clusters of neurons located along the median line of the medulla oblongata .
The suture cores are located in the middle part of the reticular formation .
According to NeuroNames conditionally divided into [1] :
- nuclei of the medulla : nucleus raphe obscurus (dark seam nucleus), nucleus raphes magnus (large seam nucleus), nucleus raphes pallidus (pale seam nucleus)
- nucleus of the pons : nucleus raphes pontis (bridge core of the seam), nucleus sublingualis ()
- nucleus of the midbrain : nucleus superior centralis (upper central core of the suture), nucleus raphes dorsalis (dorsal core of the seam)
The seam nuclei belong to the brain's serotonergic system.
