Cohen, Amnon

Amnon Cohen was born on June 1, 1960 in the city of Samarkand , the Uzbek SSR , the Soviet Union (now the Republic of Uzbekistan ). In 1973 he repatriated to Israel . He received a bachelor 's degree in management from Kiryat Ono Academic College.

He has held various positions in the municipality of Ramle . In 1999, he was first elected to the Knesset ( 15th convocation ). He worked in a special commission on the law on the emergency economic program, the Knesset Commission, the Finance Commission, as well as the Commission on Aliyah, Absorption and the Diaspora. He was chairman of the commission on citizens' appeals .

In the Knesset of the 16th convocation, he worked in the Commission on State Control and the Commission on Aliyah, Absorption and the Diaspora. He was the chairman of the commission on state control and the commission on economics.

In 2006, he was re-elected to the Knesset, he was a member of the Finance Commission, the Commission on Appeals of Citizens, the Commission on the Rights of the Child. In addition, he was a member of a number of subcommissions. In the 17th Knesset, Cohen was appointed deputy speaker of the Knesset .

Before the elections to the Knesset of the 18th convocation, Cohen took fourth place in the list of the " Shas " party , and was elected to the Knesset, as the party received ten seats. ^[1] He headed the commission on internal affairs and environmental protection . He became a member of the commission on state control , financial and economic commissions.

Cohen is married, has four children, speaks Hebrew , Russian and Bukhara .
