British Rail Class 395 ( Javelin ) is a high-speed train commissioned by the British Railways in Japan . The construction of trains was conducted in 2007 - 2009 at Hitachi facilities using Shinkansen technology. In total, 29 such trains were built to service intercity transportation on the southeast High Speed 1 line , connecting London, settlements in Kent and the Eurotunnel . Based on them, by 2009 the first domestic high-speed communication was created in England, allowing you to travel at speeds of more than 200 km / h. Both parts of the railway line are managed by Southister .
