Ivan Vasilievich Popesku (b. April 16, 1964 , p. Nizhnye Petrovtsy, Storozhynetsky District, Chernivtsi Region) - Ukrainian politician.

Biography

He graduated from Chernivtsi State University , where he studied in 1981-1986 - philologist, teacher of Russian language and literature. He graduated from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management , where he studied in 2002-2004, Master of Political Science.

In 1987-1994 - Assistant of the Russian language department, in 1989-1991 - a graduate student of the same department of the Chernivtsi State University.

In 1994–1998 and 1998–2002 - MP of Ukraine II and III convocations. In 2005, he worked in the Secretariat of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Nina Karpacheva. In 2006-2007 - people's deputy of Ukraine of the V convocation of the Party of Regions (was number 173 on the electoral list). From 2007 - people's deputy of Ukraine of the VI convocation from the Party of Regions (was number 173 on the electoral list).

In 1996-2002 and since 2006 - a member of the PACE , where since 2008 - the head of the permanent delegation of Ukraine, and since 2010 - the vice-president of PACE.

Since 2005 - President of the inter-regional association “Romanian Community of Ukraine”.

He was awarded the Order of Merit ІІІ Art. (1997) and ІІ article (2010).

Alexander's wife (born in 1963), daughter Inna (born in 1988).
