Biography
Ilya Artishchev was born on January 25, 1923 on a farm Stepanovsky Orenburg district of the Orenburg region in a peasant family. He received secondary education , after which he worked as a turner at a factory in Orenburg . In February 1942, Artishchev was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1944 he graduated from the Riga Military Infantry School. Since February 1944 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In 1944 he joined the CPSU (b) [1] .
By June 1944, Lieutenant Artishchev commanded a platoon of the 287th Infantry Regiment of the 51st Infantry Division of the 6th Guards Army of the 1st Baltic Front . He distinguished himself in a battle near the village of Shumilino, Vitebsk region . After the death of the company commander, Artishchev, replacing him, led the company in battle to break the line of defense of German troops in the vicinity of the village [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, Ilya Artishchev was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
After the war ended, Major Artishchev was sacked. In 1948, he graduated from the Orenburg Regional Party School, in 1951 - the Pedagogical Institute , after which he was in the party and pedagogical work. He died on September 14, 1981 . He was buried in Orenburg [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and a number of medals [1] .
