Since the 60s, Dennis di Sicco became interested in astronomical observations of asteroids and astrophotography. In 1974, he became an employee of the journal Sky & Telescope in 1974, bringing with him a degree in mechanical engineering and the experience of building telescopes [2] , and in 1983 became one of the editors of this magazine. In the years 1978 - 1979, he became the first astronomer who managed to capture the annual analemma of the Sun by combining together 48 photographs taken by him during the year. Headed many expeditions to observe the solar eclipse.
He lives with his wife and daughter less than 20 miles from downtown Boston . There he conducts his observations at his observatory using a 16-inch telescope, which allows him to observe stars up to 24 magnitudes [2] .
In recognition of his merits, one of the asteroids was given his name (3841) Disikko [3] .
