Biography
Born March 19, 1951 in Muonio .
In 1974, he graduated from the University of Helsinki with a bachelor of theology, where in 1983 he defended a license , and in 1990 - a doctorate in theology.
After the ordination, he held the posts of Lutheran pastor in various parishes, and from 1993 to 2000 he was rector of the Church of St. Catherine in Turku .
On January 1, 2011, he was elected Lutheran Bishop of Oulu .
On February 4, 2012, at a seminar in the village of Inari, on behalf of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, he repented to the Sami of Finland for the injustices that the Sami suffered in the church. [one]
