Biography
The son of aircraft designer and entrepreneur Marcel Dassault , from whom he inherited the group Groupe Dassault . The Dassault family is of Jewish origin and bore the surname Bloch until 1950, when parents adopted Catholicism and changed their last name to Dassault.
Member of the Union Party for the presidential majority of France , like his son Olivier, who is a member of the National Assembly. Mayor of Corbay-Eson , a southern suburb of Paris . In 2004, Serge Dassault helped finance the construction of an Islamic cultural center (consisting mainly of a mosque) in the city of Corbey-Eson, by investing his money.
