Biography

Stanislovas Apivala was born on June 19, 1920 in the village of Krikonis (later - the Shvenchensky district of the Lithuanian SSR ) into a peasant family. By nationality, Lithuanian . Received primary and secondary education. In the summer of 1941 he was evacuated, after which he worked in Gorky at the " Engine of the Revolution " plant [1] .

In August 1942, Apivala was thrown across the front line. Under his leadership, a partisan group was organized, which later grew into the partisan detachment “Vilnius”. Joined the CPSU (b) in 1943 . He was a secretary of the underground underground committee of the CPSU (b) Lithuanian SSR, and led the activities of partisans in the county. Personally destroyed 7 echelons of enemy cargo [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 2, 1945, Stanislovas Apivala was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war ended, Apivala with the rank of major was sacked. He worked in the Ministry of Social Security of the Lithuanian SSR. He was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 2nd convocation ( 1946 - 1950 ) [2] . He was elected an honorary citizen of the village of Begoml, Vitebsk region . He died in 1999 [3] .

He was also awarded the orders of the Red Banner , World War 1 degree, the Red Banner of Labor and a number of medals [1] .
