Biography

Mikhail Antyasov was born on July 18, 1906 in the village of Paevo (nowadays the Kadoshkinsky district of Mordovia ) into a peasant family. Mordvin by nationality. He received his primary education , after which he lived and worked in Moscow . In January 1942, Antyasov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army [1] .

Since October 1942 - on the fronts of World War II. He was a pontoon of the 87th separate motorized pontoon-bridge battalion of the 8th motorized pontoon-bridge brigade of the 65th Army of the 2nd Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the crossing of the Oder by Soviet troops [1] .

On April 20, 1945, six kilometers south of Stettin , despite the massive artillery and machine-gun fire of German troops, Antyasov and his colleagues gathered steam and began to transport soldiers, artillery, tanks , ammunition. When two of his colleagues, who helped him manage the ferry , were out of order, Antyasov was left to work alone. When the ferry was damaged by the explosion, Antyasov managed to quickly fix it, thereby ensuring the uninterrupted crossing of Soviet troops through the Oder [1] .

When an order was received on April 22, 1945, to urgently restore the bridge over the Oder destroyed by German troops, Antyasov, despite the massive artillery fire, took an active part in the execution of this order. Despite the wound, he did not leave his post and continued to work, leaving for the medical unit only on the orders of the company commander [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, Red Army soldier Mikhail Antyasov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 5887 [1] .

After the war, he was demobilized, worked as a carpenter, lived in the village of Mordovskoye Kolomasovo, Kovylkinskogo district of the Mordovian ASSR . He died on November 30, 1989 [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, a number of medals [1] .
